Cowell Clarke is pleased to announce the acquisition of The Workplace, a specialist employment law firm based in Sydney.
The acquisition brings together two highly regarded employment law practices and represents a significant investment in Cowell Clarke’s Employment & Workplace Relations capability in Sydney.
The move strengthens Cowell Clarke’s national commercial offering and expands its depth in employment, workplace relations and people-focused advisory work at a time when employers are navigating increasingly complex workplace obligations, organisational change and workforce risk.
Following the acquisition, The Workplace Co-Founder and Managing Partner Hannah Mills will join Cowell Clarke as a Director in the Employment & Workplace Relations team. Cowell Clarke’s Employment & Workplace Relations team will comprise around 20 employment law specialists, including Directors Sam McGrath, Joe Murphy and Cassie Burfoot, further strengthening the firm’s senior capability and capacity to support clients across workplace strategy, employment disputes, industrial relations, executive matters, investigations and compliance.
The addition of The Workplace team will provide increased depth and capacity across Cowell Clarke’s employment practice, while giving The Workplace’s clients access to the broader expertise and resources of Cowell Clarke's national commercial law services.
Cowell Clarke's CEO, Rob Comazzetto said the acquisition reflects the firm’s continued investment in specialist capability and its commitment to supporting clients across areas critical to business performance.
